INTRODUCTION
. In 2023, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations reported that over 65% of university entrants in Uzbekistan demonstrate a foundational, yet insufficient, level of English proficiency, necessitating enhanced pedagogical approaches across all academic disciplines [1]. As Uzbekistan continues its integration into the global economy and scientific community, the demand for highly skilled English linguists, translators, and educators has surged, with projections indicating a need for at least 15,000 new qualified English language specialists by 2030 [2]. Addressing this demand requires a curriculum that moves beyond surface-level grammar and vocabulary to explore the intricate mechanisms of word formation and structure, a domain where morphological analysis plays a pivotal role.
The contemporary relevance of studying English word structure is amplified by the dynamic nature of the English language itself, which continually absorbs loanwords and innovates through new word-creation processes [3]. While communicative competence is the primary goal for many learners, a thorough grasp of morphology is crucial for advanced learners, researchers, and educators seeking to decipher unfamiliar vocabulary, understand etymological roots, and engage in sophisticated linguistic analysis. Current pedagogical challenges in Uzbekistan often stem from a limited focus on morphology, leading to difficulties in advanced vocabulary acquisition, academic writing, and the effective teaching of English as a foreign language [4]. Unresolved problems include the development of context-specific morphological teaching materials for Uzbek learners and the integration of modern linguistic theories into the national curriculum. Therefore, a focused investigation into the morphological structure of English words is not merely an academic exercise but a necessary step towards improving the quality and depth of English language education in Uzbekistan. Prominent linguists such as Leonard Bloomfield [5] laid crucial groundwork by defining morphology as the study of the form of words, emphasizing the concept of the morpheme as the smallest meaningful unit. Roman Jakobson [6] further contributed to the field by analyzing the phonological and grammatical aspects of word formation, particularly focusing on inflectional and derivational processes. Andrew Spencer [7],
