INTRODUCTION . In Uzbekistan, the emphasis on English language education has intensified, with a significant portion of the national budget allocated to its teaching and learning programs. For instance, recent governmental reports indicate that over 3 trillion Uzbek soums were invested in educational reforms aimed at enhancing foreign language acquisition in the past three years [1]. This substantial investment underscores the nation's commitment to equipping its citizens with the linguistic tools necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. Mastering the structural underpinnings of English, particularly its morphological intricacies, is paramount for achieving genuine linguistic fluency beyond rote memorization. A deep understanding of how words are formed and how their meanings are modified through morphemic manipulation directly contributes to improved reading comprehension, more precise writing, and more effective oral communication. Despite the acknowledged importance of English, the specific challenges and nuances of its morphological structure within the Uzbek educational context remain areas requiring focused attention. While considerable effort is directed towards general English proficiency, the granular study of morphology—the smallest meaningful units of language such as morphemes, roots, prefixes, and suffixes—often receives insufficient attention. Furthermore, the rapid evolution of English, with new word formations constantly emerging through processes like compounding and affixation, necessitates an up-to-date understanding of its dynamic morphological landscape. Therefore, an in-depth exploration of English word structure is not merely an academic exercise but a critical component in bridging existing gaps in linguistic competency and fostering a generation of highly skilled English speakers. For example, Leonard Bloomfield’s seminal work in the mid-20th century established key principles of structural linguistics, including a detailed account of morphemic analysis [2]. Later, Noam Chomsky's contributions, particularly through generative grammar, revolutionized the understanding of word formation processes and their underlying abstract rules [3]. More contemporary scholars have focused on specific aspects of morphology; Mark Aronoff has extensively explored the relationship between morphology and syntax, proposing that morp ...
