INTRODUCTION . In Uzbekistan, the study of foreign literary influences continues to gain prominence, reflecting a broader national initiative to integrate into global cultural and intellectual discourse. For instance, the number of academic publications on comparative literature in Uzbekistan has seen a 15% increase over the last five years, reaching approximately 120 peer-reviewed articles annually in 2023, according to the Higher Attestation Commission of Uzbekistan [1]. Furthermore, student enrollment in foreign philology programs across Uzbek universities has grown by an average of 10% annually since 2020, with English philology remaining the most popular, attracting over 4,500 new students in 2023 alone, as reported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations [2]. Malcolm Cowley (1934) meticulously documented the biographical and societal context of these writers, demonstrating how their experiences of war and expatriation fostered a distinct artistic sensibility characterized by disillusionment and a search for meaning [3]. Carlos Baker (1972) offered profound insights into Ernest Hemingway's life and works, illustrating how Hemingway's sparse prose and thematic focus on stoicism and masculinity were direct responses to the trauma of the Great War, influ ...
