In Uzbekistan, the demand for English language education has surged dramatically, with over 1.6 million students currently enrolled in general secondary education institutions learning English, representing approximately 40% of all foreign language learners in the country [1]. Furthermore, the number of applicants for English language programs in higher education institutions has increased by 15% annually over the last three years, reflecting a growing societal emphasis on linguistic competence for career advancement and international cooperation [2]. This escalating demand is paralleled by significant governmental investment; for instance, the government allocated over UZS 200 billion . in 2023 for initiatives aimed at enhancing foreign language teaching methodologies and teacher training programs [3]. This robust statistical evidence underscores the critical importance of effective foreign language pedagogy in fostering a skilled workforce capable of navigating the globalized economy and contributing to Uzbekistan's strategic development goals. Despite significant investments and policy initiatives, several persistent challenges continue to impede the effective acquisition of foreign languages, particularly English, within Uzbekistan's educational landscape. A notable problem is the discrepancy between traditional teaching methodologies, often characterized by grammar-translation approaches, and the communicative demands of modern global interactions [4]. This often results in graduates possessing strong grammatical knowledge but lacking practical speaking and listening skills, leading to an "affective filter" that hinders real-world communication [5].
